Well. This is one of those weeks. We’ve got quantity. AND we’ve got quality.

Old films. New films. Classic films. Cult classic films. Films that are getting much deserved 4k/UHD treatment and films which are finally making it to Blu-ray HD disc. French films, Italian films, Spaghetti Westerns. And steelbooks. Lots and lots of steelbooks. Hopefully there’s something for YOU this week.

Yes, and props to Warner for continuing to release all seasons on blu-ray. Many other shows are DVD only, and even Warner has been known to switch later seasons to DVD after starting on blu-ray (like The Originals, first 4 seasons on blu, final season on DVD only).

I'll be getting Kinky Boots this week and can't wait to see it again.

It should be noted that this is the professional recording of the Cyndi Lauper/Harvey Firestein stage musical which itself is based on the earlier Mirimax film. It is not a Blu-ray release of Kinky Boots the original film. The disc presents the London production of the show. It was previously shown in movie theaters in June 2019 as a Fathom Event and aired on PBS a couple times and It is wonderful.

As far as I know, Kinky Boots the movie which inspired the musical does not have a Blu-ray release, only a DVD one.

I was hoarding the PBS recording in my DVR until the day that this disc was originally announced. I'm delighted to be able to reclaim DVR space and obtain this excellent production on disc.

Amazon just increased their price on Kinky Boots to $24.89.

It's only $7, but on the other hand, it's $7. Such a dramatic increase in price on release day is very strange.

I'm glad I pre-ordered it a while ago and got it for $17.99.

I saw the live stage show in the front row a few years back and my ticket was less than that. That has to be an error on Wal-Mart's part. I love Kinky Boots but no one in their right mind would buy this for that much money.

I'm bumping this thread just in case anyone else is still interested in picking up Kinky Boots.

Best Buy is back in stock at the $17.99 price point. Consequently, Amazon has now re-lowered their price to $17.99 to match.
