Check the "Compare" boxes on both of them & you will see that there are a few differences. Like the F631 has "3" A/V Inputs the F500 only 2 but the F500 has surround sound but the F631 doesn't. Also maybe? one is a different model year? I would check Sharp's website for detailed info on both of them but there maybe some hidden things like the $50 more one has a better power supply in it. Maybe some other people will chime in here who have Sharp Tv's.
