Toshiba SD9200 Static Noise (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

My friend has a 9200 and with either DVD, CD, HDCD or 24/96 discs, there is an occaisional, low level crackling that sounds like static discharge. It has no detectable periodicity and only happens on the 9200. The same discs in one of his other CD players is just fine.

Toshiba, of course, has never heard of this.

Any ideas? It does sound like a static discharge.. I tis not clipping. It happens at any volume level and is maybe 20dB below the signal.

Your friend isn't alone. I have the 9200 and have noticed the same thing. Now and then it does make a noise similar to a static discharge. I'm glad I'm not alone. Oh and by the way, power conditioners don't offer any help. I have a Monster power conditioner and I hear it. If you get any answers, please pass them on.
