I'm looking for an entry level DVD player and both of these caught my eye. Canadian list is about $250, the Toshiba is being discounted to $230, the Pioneer to $220.
Question is which one? I'm hearing a lot of good things about the Toshiba but I'd like some input from people with a lot more experince.
I'm only interested in playing DVDs.
CDR's and MP3s etc. etc. hold zero interest, it's the picture quality that counts.
which would you choose?
thanks
Wayne

Wayne,

I've used both the pioneer 333 and 343 pretty extensively. They have performed flawlessly, never once having a problem with any disc. The interlaced picture is one of the best I've seen. The only reason I'm not still using my 343 is that I wanted dvd-audio capability. I haven't used the tosh 1750, but I know that pioneer's players have (at least in the past) had better downconversion for anamorphic titles.
