DemoDisc during the Laserdisc period...

...slowly died down and lesser in attention during DVD times...

As time passes, so as better CGI effects that makes the old flicks looks cartoonish,
I wonder what kind of improvement does the BluRay offers?

They'd need to scan the original negative to get the most out of it & cut through the stygian darkness. It's no good just turning the wick up on the master they have, it would be all milky blacks. I enjoyed this at the cinema & don't remember it being that gloomy, but when I bought the VHS, oh god! I had to turn the TV brightness up to 11 to see anything.

There was an earlier BD release in 2010 that I have in my disc collection. I don't think I ever watched it, so I need to rectify that issue.

I have the previous blu also. Is this one different? If they’re just putting but into print an out-of-print title, good for them. My blu will do unless this is an improved transfer or has a bundle of extras.

I’ve always thought this was a better movie then it’s given credit for. I’d love to see the novel turned into a streaming limited series. The novel is chock full of goodies that one movie can cover.

It's a shame this is the only Agent Pendergast novel that's been adapted for film.

On the other hand, adaptations of my favorite books almost always disappoint.

The was some talk about a TV series with Paramount/Spike, but it never went anywhere.

Yeah, and they dropped him completely. It doesn’t make me mad, because they had to cut. As it is, the movie feels full.

William Defoe or Christopher Walken would make a great Pendergast.
