Sony ss-P909AV at 8 ohms and 40 watts and one Pioneer sub model CS-88A input is 80 watts peak at 8ohms. Well my problem is, the music has static in it, it plays good for a little while then here comes the static and i have mess with it to get it to work right. Is it the Receiver since its so old?

When you say mess with it what do you exactly do to get it to go away on a temporary basis? Move the volume knob?
