Setting up speaker distance using ms with a Yamaha 3000 (1 Viewer)

From what I recall 1ms is equal to 1.1 feet of distance. Why does the Yamaha 3000 on allow a setting of up to 5ms for the center channel???? I may be confused with this process, I'm use to a Denon which you can use meters or feet. My center channel is 12ft from the sweet spot and my LR/RR is 4ft. away. I also have a LS/RS which is 8ft. Thanks

This is because the center speaker is usually closer to the viewer than the left and right speakers. The delay allows the sound from all three front speakers to be time-aligned.
