    That is a crying shame! She was a truly talented and funny lady. I remember her holding her own against formidable talents the likes of Sherman Hemsley, Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton. She did so with grace and finesse, with a naughty twinkle in her eye.

    "Weezie" had a long, productive life. The recent Old Navy commercial featured just a fleeting glimpse of her - I wondered why. RIP

    I just found out she was almost 20 years older than Sherman Helmsley.

    Her first role was in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? (1967) as, of course, the maid.
