Onkyo HT-S650 ..looks like a great deal (1 Viewer)

Why does this setup have 100watts per channel and the ONkyo sr-500 single reciever has no where near this power?
Seems odd to me that this receiver is putting out so much power
WOuld you guys recommend this HTIB? or buy a Yamaha RX-v530 and buy the towers, rears and subs seperate?

Compare the amp specs, and that will tell you the real story. I highly doubt that when you read the specs beyond the claimed power, you will find that the receiver in the HTiB does not live up to what it says it is on the surface. In reality, the two receivers are probably more alike than not.

I don't understand how you went to a Yamaha 530 from the Onkyo, but yes it would be a better choice to buy separate components of higher quality.

Um i went to the yamaha because the onkyo is underpowered compared to the yamaha I want and it has way more features.
Ive read reviews of the onkyo 500 and thats the only one i can afford
