I recognized the actress playing the boss's wife (Tammy Clatterbuck). She played a supporting role on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. Let's hope none of the contestants ever watched the soap while she was on. Of course, it would be funny if one of them did think she looked familiar.

Something I forgot, Fox better watch out with their spoofs (along with the WB). If they do enough of them, reality shows may have a hard time finding contestants since people will start to get suspicous if they haven't already. Then again, that might not be a bad thing.

The show is out of control hilarious. I love the stupid things the boss says. I will keep watching as long as it makes me crack up.

Even if they noticed they could run with it. which could become hilarious. shes supposed to be a gold digging trophy-wife. who cares if the contestants don't know her name is really Tammy. as we know, a lot of actors don't use their real names.
I think this show is incredibly great. On one hand, Excalibur had me laughing hard. On the other hand, get the hell out of my office. :D I loved how he pretended to mix up the girls' names at the meeting and give credit to someone else. These people get everything they deserve. Slime-balls all of them. and Im relishing in their confused faces after an off the wall random unexpected remark made by the Boss.

Someone asked if there were any guesses about who the "boss" might be. I am thinking someone prominant... someone known for being the "boss"...

My initial guess is George Steinbrenner. Notice the slight baseball references when he walks into the room to talk to the chair. Tonight was "so, what's the call?"

Just a guess... and way premature.

Unfortunately, I missed tonight's episode. Luckily, I can probably catch up quickly next week, but could someone give a brief summary.

My guess on the boss: something like a monkey randomly picking people to kick off.

I had to laugh at the "Heather Simpson" ruse, and she (Heidi?) did sort of have a passing resemblance to Jessica Simpson.

They made the 2 team (re-separated to equal out the attractiveness of each team - LOL) sell lame products, like re-usable toilet paper, eco-pons, carb-spray, etc. The team with the better looking women won (Femron, I think). A last minute sale is what made the difference for Femron.

Todd even made the losing team come up with a new phrase to use when he fired people. I can't remember which phrase "won" but it was something like "hit the road, kid" or something with kid at the end of the phrase (I was folding laundry and walking around the house during this part.) Todd also made the losing team eat in an aquaduct, while the winning team ate at a posh restaurant, the Cite'(?)

In the boardroom, the losing team leader sent the 2 women for Todd to decide who to fire, while preserving the other 3 males on the losing team. The boardroom outbursts by the 2 women (no idea what their names are) when Todd would say "So what" and his other overused phrase (Who cares?) were pretty funny in the context of these contestants "fighting" for their game life in this sham.

Todd sent home the heavier of the two women.

I also noticed the obsessiveness over a 'catch-phrase' and hand motion, as well as his statement that the 'dismissal' was "nothing personal" (as in Trump's phrase, "It's nothing personal, it's just business")

Gotta think that Trump has NOTHING to do with this show. Afterall, as much as he would love the competition and as much as he has said "It's a welcomed flattery". etc... He is under contract with NBC... There is NO WAY they would allow him to appear on a competitor's show that is running at the same time. In fact, this is what makes Amorossa such a good guess... she is spiteful of the whole NBC show and would do it for the money!

I watched this show once and as soon as they showed the "real boss" scene I said it's a monkey. I'm sure I'm right too, I'd bet the farm on it.

I told my wife the exact same thing last night. Its probably a monkey sitting there with pictures of the 2 people and he hits one of the pics as to emlinate one of the contestants.

But I thought I saw in one episode when they had the camera over the shoulder of 'the boss' I saw some white hair??

I like the monkey idea, it would certainly knock these cutthroats down a notch or two.

I don't watch "reality" shows as a rule, especially those involving "corporate America," but I 'm intrigued by this one, for some strange reason.

As much as I like the "monkey" idea, I get the feeling that the TV audience is being had with this show, because I could SWEAR I've seen some of these "contestants" somewhere before. I think they're all paid actors in on the joke.

The redhead who was fired in the second (?) episode looks REALLY familiar, I just can't put my finger on where I've seen her before. Her comment of "By the way, you work for a jackass" to the security guard seemed scripted. The guy the "boss" called "short" in the first episode looks familiar as well.

I work in New York City. My morning bus ride is filled with commuters poring over the day's stock news. These folks are BORN with the Wall Street Journal in their DNA...are we really supposed to believe none of them have caught on that "IOCOR" is a bogus corporation? They would know the Fortune 500 better than their phone numbers. What do they discuss at this penthouse apartment they're holed up in? Why doesn't anyone discuss what business IOCOR is in?

Okay, so I'm very intrigued by all this.

There's a lot of speculation about this over at IMDB and AICN, mostly about the "monkey business," but a lot of folks agree with me about the redhead Ellie. Apparently, she and another "Boss" cast member were recently seen on "The Casino." I've never seen that show, but I KNOW I've seen "Ellie" somewhere!

Come to think of it, I've seen that straight-haired gorgeous blonde (sorry, I don't remember her name, but she's not Whitney, and she's not the one with the huge lips) before, too.

All this leads me to believe that "we" the audience are being "had." And if so, what's the point of this show? Is it a practical joke on the audience? "Ha Ha, the joke's on YOU, we're ALL professional actors, and no, that sword really isn't Excalibur!"

I've seen the episode of The Casino in question and I do think it's her as well. If that's their whole big surprise (that they're all actors), then it's pretty lame.

Oh...My...God!!!

Todd let the "contestants" have a one-night-only exemption where they could say anything that was on their minds and he would take it. After each critique, Todd would just say "Thanks, I appreciate that."

I was crying during the paintball challenge from laughing so hard. When the short guy was getting pelted, but didn't want to curse, so he was using PG-rated curse words, I think I lost it.

And when Todd schooled the blonde guy in a $1000 bet of one-on-one basketball (The short guy also got in for half the action for the blonde guy) by calling him a girly-player, and that he had no game and just trash-talked blond guy out of his game was a classic reality TV moment. They revealed that Todd was a semi-pro basketball player in his younger days, so he knew he could take the blonde guy with relative ease.

The boardroom was okay. Todd did make a point to collect the $500 from each guy. Limiting the blondy guy and the short guy to 5 word answers to the questions posed was genius. Later, Todd forced the 2 guys to listen to his critiques of them, and they could only respond with "Thank, I appreciate that." Hahahaha.

Anyhow, short guy was told to get out of Todd's office.

According to the futon critic, the final episodes will be available online beginning tomorrow along with the final episodes of "Playing It Straight". I'm glad FOX decided to do this, maybe other networks will follow suit if this is successful, especially since they have nothing to lose by putting the episodes online.
