I picked up the game / dvd combo of Lilo & Sitch's
Island of Adventure at Costco for the low price of $17.99.
When it rang up, a mail in rebate form kicked out for $4.00.
It is a Costco only rebate!
Costco also has a new "online" web based rebate system.
You fill in info from your receipt at www.costco.com on
the rebate page and the system can figure out what item
you should be getting the rebate on. You give your address
and the system will mail you the rebate check.
You don't even have to mail in your rebate!
So the net cost for the game / dvd will be $13.99!

Costco is the leader in rebate ease and honesty. You actually get your rebate and there's no expiration date on the check. All rebates should be so easy and reliable.

I don't know if you have a RiteAid where your live, but they've been doing that for a couple years now, meaning on-line submittals of rebates via receipts. Punch in your receipt and you're basically done. However, it's great that Costco has done the same thing. Filling out those register receipt rebate forms were painful. You had to write really small to get all of your address info on it.

The game has a board, pieces that you move around and
a standard dvd that will play in ANY dvd player.
The dvd uses the internal random number generator built
into DVD's in the place of dice.
The dvd also has two short episodes from the upcoming
TV series as actual films to watch.

You can find good reviews here on the board at;

and another review here;

Time Magazine also had an article about games with
a dvd component.

It sounds like fun so I got it as a Christmas present
for the family.

Hmmm...I just bought this within the past hour - on the sole basis of the rebate (really doubt my son will get into this, but for $13.99 net price I'm willing to take the chance).

Cashier handed me the receipt pointing out the rebate portion of it at the bottom. It DOES show an "Exp. Date" of 11/16/06. 06...as in "2006"! :)

Considering that the street date of this item was 11/11/03, then I certainly hope that the expiration date of the rebate wasn't 5 day after it's availability to purchase!

Chill out, everything's cool. I just input the rebate request into Costco's online system, so I'll let y'all know how that turns out. I'm about to go get started on the Roundup, so everyone hang tight for that. It's been a long morning of dealing with different stuff, but I'm ready to get buzy! :cool:

Got my $4 rebate check today.

Interestingly enough, it's made out as "Pay to the order of David Lambert or Costco or bearer". :confused:
