As the topic implies I would like to get everybody's opinion

as to what they think of my Pronto Pro CCF. This is a screen

shot taken of the TV Screen. All the Screens (TV, Receiver,

DVD Player, VCR Player, X-10 lights) will use the same theme

so as to have the proper flow of "chi" throught the entire

menu scheme. Is it easy to see, understand and read.

Let me have it!

Just looking at the one screen I may not be understanding it right....but I'll ask anyway.

How come you have the channel and volume controls on screen? I would think that having them mapped to the hard buttons would be more convenient. Especially for the volume controls...which would be universal, no matter what screen you were on.

Maybe I just don't get it, but that's my 2¢ anyway.

Nice remote by the way!

Chris,

There is no reason to have them mapped to the LCD..

I wasn't thinking straight when I started the design

of the CCF.. It's no biggie.. I am going to eliminate

the whole center 4 way and make all the other function

buttons larger! That should make it far easier to use.

Thanks

I just wanted to update this thread and get some more opinions
on what other's think of the design. I eliminated the Vol
and Channel buttons from the screen since these are hard
buttons on the side of the remote. The art work is all original
with exception to the 4 way button which I took from Meta
Tools Bryce3 (3d Wireframing application)

Nice work !! I would like to see more of it. Can you share your work and post your CCF over at remotecentral?

Much better without the volume/channel controls on screen.

I'm starting to get jealous. I'm a mac user and I am still jumping through hoops trying to get my computer to connect to a RC5000i.

:b

Nice job.

Ohhh I am one happy camper today! My Pronto Pro came and I
have to say that Chris (the guy that I purchased it from)
is a SUPER ebayer.. This was his first Ebay sale and it was
flawless. The Pro came packaged just as it did from Phillips
with every piece of literature and packing in pristine condition.
At $550.00 (no Shipping) it's the deal of the century!
At $700.00 I wouldn't have bought one.. But considering
I now have a Pro for $200.00 more than the TSU2K cost that's
not a bad deal at all :)
I already have my CCF uploaded into the Pro and most of the
buttons learned and it's working great. My CCF needs some
tweaking before I post it to Remote Central, that's even if
you guys think it's worth posting at all. Personaly I KNOW
I can do a much better graphical interface than this.. I was
just rushed.
I think I need to sit down for a good visualization session
and do some sample screens in PhotoShop and if I like what I
come up with I can then break it down into seperate images
and begin working on my next CCF. I can see this is most
likely going to be a never ending process (disease?) :)
Happy Days Are Here Again...

Shawn,

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to see the images

other than my ISP's web server may be down.. Hit refesh and

see if that helps.

Brett...
Judging from posts I have seen in this forum, the ccf is best described as a permanent work in progress. It may never be done. :D
Congrats on the killer purchase. Have fun customizing.

Looks pretty good! One thing i'd suggest is that you incorporate the use of tabs to navigate from panel to panel within a device. I'm not sure how fast the pro is compared to the normal pronto's but personally having to use the up/down buttons to get to different panels within a device is cumbersome.

Chris,
I am already finding this out! I have not put the Pro down
today. I have been changing and re changing and tinkering and
what not! Fun Fun Fun :)
Andrew,
Your tip is well received. This was my first attempt at a
custom CCF File and was "thrown" together quite loosely in
a matter of 4 days so that it would be semi ready the day
my Pro got here. I have learned a great deal about do's and
dont's when designing a CCF just from making this one. The
next one will be far more elaborate with 100% home grown 3D
graphics (I am going to do each panel in Bryce3 in wireframe)
And I will have device tabs! That is a great idea! :)
Thanks all.. This is just such a BLAST!
