I noticed a stuttering on horizontal pans on the JVC XV-N50BK DVD player in some DVDs but thought it might be due to individual DVDs. Now I just read a bunch of complaints of this exact problem on CNet and in Amazon's customer reviews. They all claim it's a problem with the actual player. Anyone else experience this? I guess I should return it (I'll really be squeaking in under the 30 day rule!)

Its apparently a problem in the MPEG decoder used, it can overload with too much data with some DVD scenes. However I have read some posts where someone was able to prevent the stuttering by power off/on the player and then just playing the movie straight thru - no FF/REV or chapter up/down.

Yeah, that's not really a solution. Weird. I returned it tonight and will scope out the new 1080i sets that are coming out.
