i've got a modest 8" (audio-pro evidence) sub, and i feel very uncomfrtable crancking the volume on it!!
i live in an apartment building, and this thing shakes the floor like a ... small earthquake!
really, it's not social! i havent got complants yet and im keeping it low. i dont want them to knock on my door...(yikes)
so how can i make my life better with a bigger sub, if i cant even use this one??
any liberating insights on the matter people?

Not close enough that it matters!
Seriously, got a house now, but had an apt for many, many years up until about 2 years ago.
I had a Velodyne HGS-10. Rockin' little sub.
What I would do, is to just try to judge when my neighbors were home vs not. Then crank it when they weren't around.
In that apt though, only had to worry about left and right of me. (2 story complex, but car ports were below my part.)
