Just curious - not interested - what kind of gas works with a 10.5 compression ratio?

My motorcycle runs 11.5:1 compression ratio and it can use 87 octane

It too puts 100hp to the rear wheel... most assuredly handles better, and I have $8k in the engine + the rest of the bike. Anyhoo... just trying to give you Harley guys a hard time! Anything with two wheels is good in my book.

My bike has an 11:1 compression ratio and it works fine on 89 or non-reforumlated 87 (that "reforumlated" stuff causes low rpm hesitation). Put 112 hp to the rear wheel (stock according to the mags - I've never dynoed mine) and is nice and quiet. Cost me $7100 in 1995 and after 45K miles still runs like new. No seeping cylinder base gaskets to be seen.

I do like cruisers, but Harleys aren't my cup of tea (except that Dyna Super Glide and of course the V-Rod). The more mods the less I like them and I absolutely HATE loud exhausts. I prefer nice quiet reliable Kawasaki cruisers. :)
