Got my first amp today. Carver m500t. Nice amp, gonna use it for my Tempest driver when I build my sub. But, until then I'd like to test drive it on my mains. However, when I received it it did not have a manual and Im a little confused about how it is supposed to be hooked up?
On the back are two pairs of the red/black speaker posts. They are the outs to the speakers of course.
On the other side of the back panel is a red RCA output and a white RCA output.
My question is that if I have a Yamaha HTR-5460, how do I hook this thing up? My speaker posts on my receiver do not accept RCA plugs.
Are those red and white RCA inputs THEE inputs? I'm stumpted and very clueless when it comes to amps.

    1) Disconnect the r and L main speakers from the Yamaha and hook to the Carver's speaker posts.
    2) Find the R and L main PREOUT RCA jacks on the back of the Yamaha, and run 2 RCA cables from these to the 2 jacks on the carver. If the Yammie doesn't have preouts, you cannot use the carver at all. If the Yammie has preouts and they are connected with bars to "AMP IN" jacks, remove those.
    3) Recalibrate.

Unfortunately your reciever does not have pre-amp outputs so you are out of luck. Sorry.

If you have a tape out or a Monitor out; connect that to the Carvers RCA jacks.
The only other way would be to find an adapter to go from your headphones to dual RCA jacks
Not a great way but it will work
I am sure RS has an adapter
