EVIL DEAD Disc screwups (1 Viewer)

i just purchased the evil dead book of the dead dvd and ive been noticing some serious problems with the dvd. A numerous amount of scenes will lock up my dvd player and i will have to restart the system and chapter skip over the offending chapter stop. I checked the disc and there appears to be one or two tiny scratches on the bottom but nothing that should warrant this many problems. Is this a disc problem (Meaning should i get a refund?) or is this a player problem?(Should i get a new dvd player?) Thanks for your input.

It's probably a disc problem. I had the same problem with a copy of From Hell.
