i have a denon 1801 rec'r and toshiba 6200 dvd player. i have the dvd player connected to the rec'r via coaxial digital connection. when i play back cd's thru my dvd player it sounds too bright to me. the music doesn't have a fullness to it. it seems flat to me. so i was thinking if people tend to use analog connection for cd playback. btw, my speakers are polk rt800i's (consist of 2 6.5" woofers and 1" tweeter) floorstanding spkrs.

Youssef, try it both ways and see which one you like better. The Toshiba should do parallel audio output so you can have the digital coax and 2 RCA cables hooked up to it at the same time. It really comes down to whether you like the DACs in the receiver vs. the ones in the dvd player.

cheers,
