Def. Tech. Reference Sub. Amp. Rating (1 Viewer)

I asked this on 2 other sites w/o any replies so I thought I'd ask the experts here.
I recently bought this sub and while I was hooking it up I noticed on the label that it said 1500 watt when it's supposed to be 1800 watt. The same label also stated that it was the Reference model. In all the Def. Tech literature they state that's it's 1800 watt. Anyone know what's up with this?

The 1500w specification is most likely the maximum AC current draw. Contact Chet at Definitive Technology to confirm.
