I thought I read that the rights for an R1 release on this had recently been acquired by Dark Sky Films, but I can't remember where I read it--I thought at Latarnia, but I'm not finding it now. Sorry to be so vague, but you might hold on for a few months to see if a decent version is issued. Dark Sky seems to be doing a nice job with its releases.

I'm pretty sure this is the official version. I've owned all of the DVDs you listed and the Spanish audio helps the film a lot. I'm not sure what in the hell that Japan disc was but as you mentioned, it only ran 70 minutes and seemed to be a butchered down TV version apparently ment to fill a 90 minute slot.

As Mark said, Dark Sky is suppose to be releasing this sometime next year but not much else is known. The exact aspect ratio is being debated all over so even that's up in the air.
