When I tried to pre-register at Denon's site for the upgrade info it would not take my serial number by saying it was not a valid number.

I bought my unit new in a box from large local authorized chain (Hi-Fi Buys) in Nashville,TN.

Just to be sure I'm entering the right number, it's a 10 digit number which appears on the box and on the rear of the unit at the bottom left-hand side on a white strip.

Plus it's on my bill of sale from the store.

But when I enter this number it comes back as an invalid number. Could it be because they did not get my warranty card or something?

Thanks,

Ken

I tried it again and it took it this time.

The serial number was correct but I changed the spelling of the name of the place I got it from "HI-FI Buys" to the correct spelling "HIFI Buys".

I guess they match serial numbers to the place where they are supposed to be sold from in order to keep unauthorized unit owners from getting info on the upgrade and possibly the upgrade itself.
