I am interested in getting a region free player with PAL > NTSC conversion (mostly for TV shows that are released in Europe such as The West Wing). I have seen websites and Ebay offer them, but I would like a chance to look one over. Are they sold in any stores in the US ?

Mark, I have not seen region-free DVD players in stores in the US. I have seen an occasional region-free player on www.jandr.com (J&R Music World).

William, sorry to say that none of the $90 Apex/Daewoo etc players do the conversion properly

As far as I know, no B&M stores except maybe a few in Chinatowns sell region hacked players. It's all mail order
