    IMO, I really like the Paradigm Reference Studio/20. B&W 600 series (either the 601 or 602) is another good one. The discontinued Energy Connoisseur C-2 were very highly rated by me.
    Of course, I am biased...have Studio/60 V.1 mains, CC-450 centre and Studio/20 V.1 rears. [​IMG]

    Platinum Solos for $550 but without stands.

    I'm partial to the nOrh wood 5.1 or ceramic 4.0 for $400 a pair. Axiom has the 3Mtis that should be good and Ascend has the CBM-170s that are a winner. Could go with AV Reality Monitor for $279 or $299 that includes shipping or Swan Diva 2.1 or 4.1. Those would be my initial best ones. If you can build the cabinet, toss in the ACI Opal.
