it rocks for games, but the new ati 9800 pro is a little bit better

I have it and its an excellent video card. However, if I were you, I would wait for the new 9800.

I'd wait for the 9800 to come out, wait for the 9700 price drop, and THEN buy the 9700.

My impression is that the premium you pay for top-shelf products usually isn't worth it. You're going to replace your computer in 2 years anyways.... the performance increase you get won't be worth the price difference.
