Alexa and the Superbowl (1 Viewer)

I thought the commercials for Amazon’s Echo were clever and funny. After the second one I realized that my Echo hadn’t responded to the mention of her name, Alexa. Usually when the TV or radio says her name, the Echo responds. Did Amazon install code to prevent it?

Our Echo rarely gets activated when an Amazon commercial for the device is shown. It does get activated sometimes randomly from other things it hears on our home theater, though.

Personally, I think "Alexa" is very stupid compared with Google. At least half the time when we ask one of our Echos a question, it either says " I do not know the answer" or gives us an answer to a completely different question.
