I have a 2 year old 27" Zenith HDTV that has a VGA input. The manual says the input accepts 1080i and 480p.

So I connected a vga cable from the tv to my computer vga out. I get a beautiful picture with the pc set to output at 640 x 480 (i guess this is where the 480p compatibility comes from?).

However the icons are too large. I would like to get 1080i output. Does anyone know the ### x ### out format? I tried increasing the output one step at a time but nothing work. I even thought 1280 x 1024 would be correct but no. The TV only accepts the 640 x 480. Is there a video card that outputs to 1280 x 1080?

Thanks in advance for all you help.

You might want to try www.avsforum.com because there is a lot of info over there about the Zenith HDTV sets & I think I saw some posts about computer hook ups to them.
