The TV monochrome series that I would most want released on DVD are- The Defenders ( seasons 2-4), 77 Sunset Strip, Circus Boy, Jeff's Collie, Ben Casey (season 2 onwards); Surfside Six, Burke's Law Season 2 and Amos Burke - Secret Agent.
Neil, As someone who knows about these things do you think that there is any chance of these 3 better seasons of The Defenders could be released say as a crowfunding project. Or is it certain that these seasons will remain in the vaults? We here in the UK have an excellent channel called...

Many thanks for all your replies. About 6 months ago LULU published a book all about Thriller The Brian Clemens series which was shown in the USA. It was excellent. Then we have the series of books called What the Fans Think of Blake's 7, Torchwood and UFO also available from LULU. There is...
Two of the episodes dealing with capital punishment that I have seen have been particularly thought provoking. Particularly the one with the ending I was definitely not expecting. Here in the UK although capital punishment was abolished many years ago there are still frequent calls to bring it...
Thanks to this thread I have seen a few episodes from seasons 2 -4. This was a series that I was always keen to see properly. My parents enjoyed watching it in the UK when it was originally shown and I had memories of the title sequence. I have to say that this is one of the best TV series...

While many classic TV series have books written about how they came to be made and containg an episode guide within them (i.e. Doctor Who, Star Trek, Dark Shadows, The Fugitive, Perry Mason etc.) , many series have not had that special treatment. I would very much like to see abook written...
It would be great if somebody was to write a book about the making of The Defenders. It is an excellent series and it is sad that seasons 2 -4 are not easily accesible to everyone at the moment. The series as far as I am concerned is even better than Perry Mason with its thought provoking...
Thanks Darby67. I've bought it too and enjoyed it. I always find Paul Lynde amusing to watch but he had a rather sad life. I don't think he quite realised how entertaining he was as a performer.
On a UK website there was a member saying that the BBC showed some episodes of this series and then destroyed them. I don't think it was all the episodes though. Can some person tell me what is the archive status of The Third Man. Do they all exist in some American archive does anyone know...
I would prefer to see previously unreleased shows made available before re-releases. Any re-releases I would like to see are those series that can be released on blu-ray effectively i.e. Land of the Giants this time around.
Network DVD here in the UK has just started a paid streaming system featuring old 1960s shows from our ABC Channel. This week they have announced some titles will be available on DVD as well. These programmes were made in monochrome and are excellent. Sadly I don't know how available they...
