Thanks for all the replies. I figured out how to turn off the internal tuner and my external one is apparently HDTV compat so I pick up a couple of more local channels now. Need to put one in the attic now.
I recently got a LCD Tv (Westinghouse 32w6) with a built in OTA HDTV tuner. I was wondering if purchasing an external tuner one would yield me a greater number of HDTV channels? I currently get 2 channels with the built in tuner. I am located in the Atlanta area so if anyone around here that is...
Sony mainly does LCD so that would limit you to a rear projection LCD unit. Are you getting a huge discount off of one? I assume thats why your sticking with Sony?
I recommend you go to AVS forum(If you already haven't).......Kevin have you ever seen a toshiba LCD? Many people who actually own the brands you are looking for can offer opinions or pros/cons to each set over there. I really like the new westinghouse 32 LCD at bestbuy it has a great picture...
Just an update. I emailed them twice with no response asking if they would allow me to use paypal since it has price protection vs. the company they use. Well they never responded so I am guessing the company is sketchy. Anyway figured i'd let you all know.
Has anyone every heard of this website before? http://www.c1electronics.com/About.html They have great prices on some electronics but use an online billing company that I have never heard of to process items. Let me know what you guys think. I was looking at the Sony Bravia.
Did any of you hear about the Mets trash talking the Braves after they one the first game out of the series (even tho pedro was pitching). Lol they then promptly lost the next two games. What a bunch of clowns. They couldn;t handle Andruw Jones hitting practically two homeruns PER game....oh...
did u get it from BB? It is a greaty price right now but I want to wait for it to get cheaper. I think during a black friday sale it will be cheaper but maybe harder to find? I am on a tight budget so I can wait :) It looks like a great TV tho. The only LCD I saw that I liked better was the Sony...
32" Westinghouse LCD tv on sale today for $999 if you can find any 10% off BB coupon that would drop the price down also. Just letting you know. Also if you have a CompUSA near you they have the 26" Syntax Olevia HVX LCD TV on sale today for $499. Thats a pretty damn good deal too.
Hey nathan I like you have been in the market for anew LCD TV for a good price and so far I have come across two or three sets that are worth looking at. The Westinghouse LTV-27W2 at bestbuy is a 27" unit that is only 699 and I have been told frequently goes on sale. Also if you can get a hold...
Ben what school do you go to and where do you live? I go to Kennesaw State. My roomate has the klipsch speaks that your talking about and I would say keep those and buy the best sub you can afford. Have you got a receiver yet or do you use a computer? I can't imagine that the quintets or...
I was wondering wether or not anyone here had one of those coupons that could be redeemed at Crutchfield where the person buying it gets $20 off there purchase and the other person gets $20 off there next purchase. Anyway I am going to buy a Csi5 and was just looking to see if anyone has any of...
I think I decided to get the Hd555 Senn's for him. Thanks for the suggestions. I am going with them because 1. He won't be using them for travel(home only) 2. He will be listening to them without alot of ambient noise. 3. I think he is gonna want them to be comfortable for longer listening...
I have the polk rti line and I think they are a great choice especially if you shop around because you can usually get good deals on audio equip from bigger elec stores such as Fry's etc. etc. I would aldo like to back up the statement on the csi3. It is the only speaker that I feel the need to...
jack sorry for not posting in the correct setion I actually read the descriptions of of each section and thought about where to put it but I still got it wrong :frowning: . Thanks for the recommendations thats exactly what I was looking for.
Ok so my Dad asked me to check out some stereo headphones for him for his birthday . I really like researching audio stuff but I have never even glanced at headphone anything. Are there certain features I need to look for? Any suggestions for brand/models? I would like to buy new for $100-150...
I didn't even see that package! Even better because now you get a center channel vs. turning a bookshelf speaker on its side. I think thats a great deal for an inexpensive HT surround. Then you can either sell the 150's, use them for a 2 channel system, or use them for mains and move the 140's...
David thanks for some input. For a budget I don't think you can go wrong with the 140's or the 150's. I don't personally have them but I would say they are better than any HTIB speaker. They would all be timbre matched and you could get 6 channels if you want. Plus the 140's for only 399 shipped...
OR sorry I saw this after I posted. You could get 5 infinity primus 140 speakers which is 399.99 with free shipping and then you still get 2 Infinity primus 150 speakers for free w/free shipping. Then you could keep the 150 pair and sell a 140 pair or just keep them all since it only cost you...
Do you have a Fry's near you? If so look at the sale papers in the news paper for like 3 weeks and wait for a sherwood 6105 to go on sale from anywhere from 59-79 dollars. Then go to crutchfield and buy 5 Infinity primus 150 book shelf speakers for 449.95 with free shipping. Use one bookshelf as...
I figured it out. Everything was hooked up correctly. I pulled the plate amp out today and my brother noticed some transistor ect. I don't really know the purpose of the piece but it came unsoddered(spelling?) so as soon as I touch the metal to the once soldered metal on the computer board the...
Ok I finally got my DIY atlas 15 box built and everything set up. To use a plate amp all I have to do is plug it into my subwoofer preout using a RCA to one of the line ins on the plate amp and also turn up the volume on the plate amp right? Oh yeah I plugged in the amp to a socket as well. My...
