    Yamaha RXV-1400 and no bass

    There is a sbwfr setting in manual setup/speakers where you can choose sbwfr,front,both,none. If this is set to front, all bass & lfe will be sent to the front speakers.

    I've narrowed down my upcoming receiver choice to the Yamaha rx-v1400 or v2400. The only difference I'm aware of(except for a few watts/channel) is that the v2400 has an RS-232 port and the v1400 doesn't. Does this feature warrant the extra $$? For those out there who have rs-232 ports on...

    I have been saving up to buy the rx-v2400, however after reading this thread it seems like the 1400/5790 are equally capable? Am I better off holding out for the 2400 or would the 1400/5790 work out just as well? I'm looking to make the purchase this coming weekend, hoping to catch some holiday...
