While visiting a Seinfeld episode guide I was givien a pop up ad that offers the entire series on 23 discs for $189. Does anyone know if this is for real or if it's some kind of bootleg.
I just got the Midnite Movies Beach Blanket Bingo/ How To Stuff A Wild Bikini Double feature. And while it says both on the back cover and on the disc itself that it is "Letterbox", the disc plays the second film in full screen. It even has the "modified to fit your screen" disclaimer. If...
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cover for "Married With Children" season two. Anyway, I'll put in my vote for the recent release of "The Monster Club". The poster art is really nice and compliments the movie very well. Also, Damien: Omen II which makes it look more like a family drama...
I found another audio anomally on "Revenge Of The Pink Panther". On the new disc all of the sound effects are missing for the final animated sequence before the end credits. Also whereas on previous versions of this film, the dialog ends as soon as the credits start to roll. On the new disc the...
"How does the overall image quality compare?" Except for the cropping, the image quality is improved over the older discs. Especially on "A Shot In The Dark". The only exception being "The Pink Panther Strikes Again". I'm very disappointed in this title. The pre-title sequence looks...
I just got this set today and I am very disappointed to see quite a bit of image cropping. Comparing the new discs to my old ones, I see that "Pink Panther Stikes Again" has cropping all around the image, especially during the animated title. "A Shot in the Dark" has slight cropping on the top...
What may I ask is wrong with what we've got? They look great, have 5.1 soundtracks and commentaries. I'm quite happy with my Naked Gun trilogy. There are plenty of films out there that have never gotten any DVD release at all. I'm more interested in getting them out.
I just got this player today and found that after switching to 480p,720p,1080i and then the next one is NTSC CVBS Ypbpr. What is this last setting? To me it seems the sharpest, while 720 and 1080 seem the softest.
Just last Tuesday I asked a clerk for "Cabin Fever" and was told that they had not gotten any in. The same thing happened with "South Park Season Three" and "Family Guy Season One". There have been others as well that were not stocked by my Wal Mart on release day.
Has anyone else noticed when John Rhys-Davies sings right before Indy throws the date up into the air, The end of the lyrics are missing? He sings all the words on the french track. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong.
This disc looks fantastic on my Toshiba sd-3750 with the progressive in auto mode. I can see some very minor alising on about every 5th still frame, but even to see that i need to get up close to my 50inch Toshiba set.
---------------------------------------------------- Everyone knows the old edition was 92 minutes ---------------------------------------------------- The old edition was acctually 97 Mins. It just says 92 on the case.
I just picked up the new Artisan release of "Bride of Re-Animator". Not only is it full screen only but it's also the worst looking piece of crap I have ever seen. When you start the movie you are greeted by the old Vestron Video logo which looks video based and jitters like crazy. The whole...
According to the back of the case of "Johnny Be Good", it states that the film is rated R and runs 86 Mins. According to the IMDB, It runs 91 Mins. Can anyone confirm if this is the original PG-13 version or the re-edited R version?
I have a Toshiba 50H82 and it has a red tinge to the right side of the screen. I have heard that this means my red voltage is set too high. Does anybody know what the setting for red voltage is called in the service menu? I would really appreciate it.
Quote: ------------------------------------------------------------ Also, Warner's DVD of another Boorman classic, DELIVERANCE is badly framed - overmatted, to be precise. It should be 2.40:1, but it is overmatted to somwhere in the region of 2.60-70:1 - GAH! But the transfer is sharp and...
I also thought that "natural born killers" was cropped on the sides for warners dvd, As well as "Creepshow". But then I realised that every widescreen Warner Laserdisc that I owned was acctually slightly windowboxed on the sides. So it just seemed as though picture information was lost on the...
