any opinions on Aperion vs. Axiom? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with one of those brands, but was really wondering what you all thought of either of them with my HK. thanks!
thanks for the advice. I just listened to the b1, b2, and c1 at BB and they sound good, but are not bright enough for me right now...I'm a little wary of not getting bright enough speakers because my center right now is too warm and it's driving me nuts.
want some brighter sounding speakers to go with my HK 525. was looking at Aperion and Axiom, but Athena's get some good press and they can ba had for about $100 bucks less. thanks.
> If you like it, stick with it That's the thing, I don't like it much. Each speaker is pretty decent in their own right, but I think the mix is really bringing the overall sound down. Plus, it's a lot better than letting the wife pick my xmas gift herself :) Looking at Axiom, Aperion, and...
aaargh!! now, I'm really confused. the *cheapest* best sounding way to solve this now I think is to get the CS Tower II's, which is really contrary to other advice I have recieved about CS, but it seems that at $449 a pair on sale I can't really go wrong...can I? I found they got a lot of good...
Ok, since others have been chuckling at my current Infinity and Cambridge SW speakers I've decided that if I can make it my xmas gift I'll try to upgrade. Short on time though if I want to get them here for xmas. My room is 15x11, and use the system pretty equally for games, movies, music and...
Thanks for the help. The ezset was the problem...it was way, way off....at leats the way I was using it anyway. I did it manually and things sound great now. For what it's worth the fronts and center are now at 0, with the surrounds at +2. I've watched about 5 movies now and the HK 525 is...
I can't move my center from where it is now, it just won't work with my set up. With my old kenwood, I always had the center higher than everything else as well, but I thought that this new system would handle this type of thing a little better. Am I correct that the test tone should play...
Just got the HK AVR 525 and I'm having trouble setting the speakers for 5.1 surround properly. I tried the Ezset and had to turn the volume to 10db to get the Ezset to be able to set the levels correctly (they recommended using a volume of 15db). Problem is that it set rear surrounds to 10db...
yup, I got the 525 for $515 with shipping. I can't wait now! My room isn't really big enough for 7.1, but I'm already figuring out how to squeeze in the extra speakers. How much of a difference does 7.1 make over 5.1? Is it worth trying to squeeze them in?
> The 525 can actually be found for around $500 (not including shipping). I just found that myself, but the dealer it's with isn't listed as an approved dealer on the Harman site...should I worry about that?
Anyone know which is the better choice for Movies and Video Games? I'm new to all this and don't see all that much difference. The 525 seems better, but the 330 is newer... Oh, and the 525 has HDCD decoding and the 330 does not...I'm not even sure that's important though.... Both can be found...
I've got a budget of about $600 and want to get the best sounding receiver I can. I use it mostly for movies and video games. What do you all recommend? I've been looking mostly at the HK AVR 525 (some sites are selling it for just over $600), but is there something better? Also, I currently...
