    Wall mounting HC6 sats

I just bought these speakers for someone else, and while I haven't mounted them on the wall, you should probably keep them a good distance from the wall because they are rear ported. They could definitely be wall mounted since they do have the standard threaded holes in the back of them, but...

    Recommended Speakers for $300

Oh, and I forgot to mention that these speakers are pretty good looking too! The piano black finish is better than I imagined, great compact size, they seem to be made of wood as opposed to some sort of plastic at this price range, and they also have removable grills, also not common for this...

Hey Donovan, did you end up buying any speakers yet? Well, if you did, I just hope that you bought the Acoustic Research HC6 because these babies are hot!!! Now seriously, let me tell you, I was able to play with them over the weekend, hooked them up to the new receiver, positioned them...

    Recommended Speakers for $300

Donovan, that looks like a great find on the Factory Clearance Center website, although I just checked and it seems to be out of stock. Although I've bought refurbished products a few times, I'm not sure if there are any cons on buying refurbished speakers. As someone else mentioned, the...

    Recommended Speakers for $300

Although I haven't yet received them, I ordered the Acoustic Research HC6 system for $299 + $45 shipping from etronics.com. It has many good reviews and good comments in this forum. They used to run for $799 a few months ago, so definitely a good buy!

Acoustic Research HC6 with banana plugs?

Kevin, thanks for confirming that those spades from PartsExpress will not fit, it's too bad. Do you know of any spades that will fit those posts? It sounds like the gap would have to be a bit wider. What about the pins here instead: http://accessories4less.com/aless4/C...2D405&cc=&tpc= for...

Acoustic Research HC6 with banana plugs?

Thanks for the replies. I had also read the same review that terence pointed out, but then there is another review here: http://www.audiorevolution.com/equip...cresearchhc6/. Take a look at the third paragraph: "The speaker connections will allow bare wire, one-quarter-inch spade lugs, or...

Acoustic Research HC6 with banana plugs?

Hi, I've just ordered the Acoustic Research HC6 speaker system. In the meantime, I'd like to buy some banana plugs for the speaker wire. However, I read in a couple of reviews that the speakers don't take banana plugs, yet a different review said they did. Can HC6 owners please let me know...

Good 5.1 speaker system for $500?

Kevin, I'm very glad to hear that you love your HC6 speakers. Were you able to actually demo them before buying? What did you compare them against? I'm wondering if they actually sound better than the others, although that price is hard to beat! Ernest, I do have somewhat of a bias towards...

    Stupid dipole mounting question

Hi Eric, I recently faced a similar problem when I bought the new set of Paradigms. I was very concerned about the placement of the ADP-370s, because my room has the couch against the back wall, and no wall on the right side of the room. My only options were either speaker stands or mounting...
