I have a SW-M40 too and the way I did it after a lot of research from fellow users at audioreview.com was as follows:
1.Buy a bag of polyfill and a can of adhesive spray at Wal-Mart (arts & crafts section).
2.Remove the driver.
3.Apply the adhesive to the walls of the sub and stick about...
Hi There Mark!
I got my SW-40 in Sams at $130. I sticked polyfill to its walls and believe me when JOE and I tell you it sounds like a much more expensive subwoofer. I'm VERY satisfied with my purchase.
It performs VERY WELL with the poly mod!! But that's IMHO!
Blink, Blink!! :D
Hi There!
All my HT system is wired with Monster Cables and believe me when I said the difference is VERY noticeable compared to ordinary and cheap cable. Regarding the subwoofer cable, I recommend you the Monster Cable Interlink 201. It's THX certified and you can find it in EBAY for about 25...
Before you start spending money in another center speaker, I recommend you the same thing a colleague here in the forums told me; gosh! I forgot his name!!.
Stuff your center with polyfill to reduce the hollowness produced by the highs. Not exactly stuffing! Stick polyfill in the walls of the...
I want to take this moment to thank Guy for taking a great deal of time to enlight us in this difficult (for me) procedure of calibration.
I'm going to adjust the grayscale patterns by unplugging the Chroma cables (Pr, Pb) and leaving only luma (Y). In terms of red push calibration, I'm...
Don't Worry Jack! That's the first thing I did. I wrote the default settings in the back of my manual. But thanks a lot for the reminder!! ;)
Is anyone by chance knows the optimal settings for this TV??
Can AVIA help me to set this TV?? I already ordered a copy. ETA 2 more days.
I'm with Paul in this matter.
I have a WEGA 27FS13 and it kicks butt. If you have a HT system you don't need the FV cause you're gonna waste money in better TV speakers when you're not gonna use them. About the PIP... waste of money too. Use the last channel or recall button in your remote ...
I had a related problem. But I have a receiver with a built in crossover setting. If you're gonna set your mains to small (in order to send the lows to the sub) you need a crossover setting in your receiver. My mains holds up to 40Hz so i set up the crossover to 80Hz. It's not a religious...
I have both coax and optical. Same brand and everything (Monster). And I don't hear any difference. The difference between the two are subjective, according to experts. So in an nutshell they're saying that's the same thing. The difference it's up to you. ;)
I have one of those and in any case if you're having problems with your power the ground or power protection light will be off. Not flickering. In a nutshell, try it somewhere else but I bet it's only a dying bulb.
Thanks Vince! BTW I set it to 170Hz (the LFE High Cut Filter). The same as the Cut Off Freq knob in the subwoofer. Think I'm gonna set it to STD again.
Thanks Joe for the info!!!
BTW I did the polyfill mod with my Sony SA-WM40 subwoofer. I removed the driver and sticked polyfill to the walls with spray adhesive. It worked like a charm. So go for it if you have it. Great sub for its price.
Can I do the same with the center channel??? You...
The info the manual states is this:
LFE High Cut Filter:
Lets you select the cut off frequency of the LFE channel high filter. Normally, select "STD". When using a passive subwoofer powered by a separate power amplifier, it may be better to change the cut off frequency.
Thanks for all your...
