It seems like a pretty good deal for a 500w amp. Does it have plenty of power for your tempest? Also, how is the build quality of the amp? Does anyone else have any recommendations on a 500w plate amp with out a fan? Thanks
I'm thinking of using one of these amps: http://www.bkelec.com/Diy/bsb500.htm in a diy TUMLUT sub project. They seem like a pretty good deal for a 500w plate amplifier with no fan. The price is about $350 with the currency conversion.

The sharp fan has a little less whine. They are both close in db, just a diffrent pitch. The sharp has great black levels and just about no spill. I'm using a da-lite grey screen ceiling mounted. I love the resize featured of the sharp. However, overall the NEC is great projector, especially for...
Sorry, I'm not interested in a trade. I already have to much stuff. I upgraded to a new projector so I need cash. The projector is listed on ebay and ends today. Dan
I'm selling my NEC LT-150 DLP projector for $1899. It is a little less then a year old. I will also include a optional leather case. The projector is in perfect condition. Please email me if you are interested.

Thanks,

I lowered the price to $1600 via the forum and $1698 through Half.com. I also have the ceiling mount for $150. If you are interested please email me at [email protected]
I picked up a Toshiba 4800 tonight at bestbuy with the intentions of comparing it to my JVC progressive scan player. Overall the 4800 looks great however it does have the chroma bug. I noticed red banding on Toy story and North by Northwest when I used the 4800 with my projector. I played the...
I'm selling my Infocus LP340-V DLP projector. It's a great projector for DVD, home theater, and video games. The projector is a year old and I have the orginal box and manuals. It's in perfect condition. Here is a review at ProjectorCentral...
I hear his from about 4 inches away with my old Yamaha receiver + amp. I consider this normal and would never complain about it. On my Outlaw 950 I could hear hiss from 9 feet away. I actually measured this with a tape measure. I do not consider this to be normal. I'm confident that the Outlaws...
I just got off the phone with Paradigm, they refuse to believe that there was any type of design flaw with the old crossover, so it looks like I'm out another $120. I still find it strange that the replacment crossovers are so much larger. The coils on the old crossover are at least twice as...
Nope, everything sound great. I'm simply noticed less midrange and a wierd smell coming from my speaker. I tested the speakers and everything seems fine. Dan
About 6 months ago one of my Paradigm Studio 100 v1 crossover's fried. The copper coil chokes on the crossover completely melted. My speakers were just over the 5 year mark so a new crossover cost me $120. When I received the new crossover I noticed that the coil chokes were almost double in...
I hear the same amount of hiss in digital & analog. However, if you switch from analog to digital the hiss goes away untill you play a source and push stop. Even in digital I have the same amount of hiss. As for the crosstalk issue, I only hear that in analog. Dan
I'm using a Parasound 2205 amp with Studio 100's and 20's. I've actually tried 2 other amps now with my 950 and all have the same hiss. If I switch back to my Yamaha RX-V3000 + amps the hiss is almost inaudible even with my ear against the tweeter. I just want to be sure that my 950 is not...
Check this out over at the Outlaw forum. It appears there may be a crosstalk problem on the outlaw analog inputs, even with bypass turned on. Is is possible that this crosstalk could be related to the hiss problem I'm having.

My RX-V3000 has a main in jack so I decided to test that as the amplifier for the 950. What I heard was about the same as the Parasound. Could I just be over critical??? I realize that this hiss most likely isn't effecting the sound quality. I just want to be sure that my unit is not defective...
The hiss problem is still bothering me. I ran some more test and found that the hiss is audible from over 9ft. This is the same hiss Steve posted about. It is not a 60Hz hum. I switched everything again back to my Yamaha RX-V3000 + Parasound amp and the hiss wasn't audible from more then 3...
Joe is pretty cool, he use to be the manager of Sound Studio on 202 (no closed). Anthony is the obvious italian. I try and stay away from Ray. Ray just seems shady and I've never trusted him. Maybe he is the used car salesman. I also agree Gene is very good to work with. I'm really supprised the...
I shop at Hifi house in Delaware on a regular basis. I've know Anthony for some time. He is a bit intense and can come off as a car salesman. However, he's a good guy and usually gives the lowest price of all the salesman at Hifi. Once you get to know the guys at Hifi I think you will find that...
I have them set to small and hanv't noticed any problems. You can by a port plug from paradigm if it is a problem. I don't notice any big diffrence in sound having them next to the walls. I think you would notice a diffrence if they were your mains and running full range or music.
I actually thought they would be to big. However they actually look really good. They are some of the best made brackets I have seen. I think they hold up to 55lbs. It's really nice not to have to drill a pair of studio 20's. I will try and post a picture today for you.
Dan
I use a pair of clamp b-tech mounts from crutchield. They are heavy duty and you don't have to drill your speakers. They hold my Paradigm studio 20's perfect. Here is a link to them.

Bruce does your amp do the same thing as mine? If you turn it off and then back on do you have to wait a few mins? Does anyone else have this problem with there Parasound?
Dan
It's not an issue with a 12 volt trigger. Rather a problem with either the switch or relay. It may also be some type of protection circuit kicking in. I'm having a hard time getting parasound to cover this under warranty. I bought it off Audiogon a few months ago. It dosn't seem like a major...
