You need to compare apples to apples in this case. I would go with RF5's for the fronts. If you want to save money go with RB5's for the rears, etc. The RF5's just are a pretty big step up in my opinion. The RF7's from the RF5's are another large step-up but certainly are more expensive. I...
Another options since you are going to be using it strictly as a pre-amp is to get an actual pre-amp like the Outlaw 950 due in Oct. Do a search for it and you can find it's specs. If you really aren't going to use any of the powered channels then I do recommend going with a model like this.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but in DVD-A and multichannel SACD will the 950 take the 4,5,or 6 channel recording and matrix it into 7.1? If that is the case consider me sold on the idea of the 950 and getting full range speakers all around.......
Just a little side note, I heard that ATI is...
How interested are you in regular 2 channel music? If music is going to be pretty important in the set-up I recommend the Marantz 7200. It simply does music better than any of the other receivers in my opinion (and I looked at a lot of the same models as yourself). If HT is your main empahsis...
Where is the best place to find a good deal on these? From all the investigation I have done, these are the best on the market in their respective price range. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because my local dealer will try to bend me over for price.

I have heard the 7200 and think that it is a great receiever. I think that head to head with the Denon 3802, it was much more musical. I read somewhere that if you set your mains to small then the crossover is @ 80 rather than 100, but I am not positive of that. Is it really a big deal where...
I would advise also looking into the Marantz models if you listen to much music. I would recommend the 7200 in particular. Not to mention that it is cheaper then the 3802 and when I demoed these two models together I liked the 7200 better hands down. By the way, how much did you pay for your...
Does anyone have any info on the 8200 or 9200 Marantz models? I am really impressed with the 7200 and definitely am considering buying it, but it's a case of not wanting to say "what if". If the 8200 and 9200 are going to be considerably better then I will wait, but if they are going to be...
