nope it has hardware realtime DD 5.1 encoding. Every sound you hear in game is encoded and of course your reciever/processor decodes it to 5.1 channels

well i got all my electronics from Adire and am quite pleased with everything. I got my box all hooked up, i put the 60oz of polyfill in, and fired her up. Unfortunatly polyfill shot out the ports all over. hah This is the Adire Tempest Alignment, all to spec from the plans on Adire's website...

heh untill my tempest and supplies come in, im using a JL 12w3 in a car audio box powered by an old reciever. Its far from great but its not horrible. If your on a budget it might be easiest just to spend $50 on some computer speakers with a sub. Probably cheaper than the sum of the parts itd...
