I have both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray and would like to upgrade my reciever to get the full HD sound i.e. True HD, Dolby Digital Plus, PCM Lossless, and DTS-HD. Are there any recievers with these decoders and HDMI for $500 or under?
Now the word is 19 additional minutes instead of 7. Also I think it is a lock that the begining is going to be changed. Although the new begining has the same idea as the old one it just drops you into the middle of a boat race instead of a club.
I've read the script and the only real deleted scenes are as follows: Offshore boat race. After the deal is set with Montoya in Haiti Tubb's gets a phone call Trudy which leads to a conversation about said call. (It's more interesting than it sounds but I don't want give away spoilers)...
From what I hear the extra footage mainly applies to a subplot about Neptune, the pimp they were going after in the club. However this subplot does contain two big action scenes: The much talked about boat race, and a shootout in North Miami.
Are HD-DVD's playable on regluar SD hardware? I've heard from a couple of people who claim that you can play HD-DVD's on non-HD players, and that the result, while nowhere near the level of actual HD picture quality, is slightly better than their SD counterparts due to the lack of compression...
I don't understand the comment that it won't make a profit until it hits network tv. According to Box office Mojo Serenity only missed it's production budget buy just under 200,000. So if it has already made over 9 million in rentals alone it means it is already making a profit. I know the...
Actually Mann did not write or direct for the show. He was the Executive Producer, and was mainly in charge of the visual style and music for the show.
Colin I clocked the original TC at about 117min without credits. This is very interesting news. So according to RR and the Official Press Release these stories are supposed to be presented complete and uncut. With a running time of 147min. However when the DVD is released there is about...
2 things: 1 Because he said repeatedly that they would be the complete stories. 2 I don't how adding 2 or 3 minutes of extra footage and dialouge that adds depth and complexity to the characters and plot would hinder the story. I guess I just can't imagine RR putting the whole story...
Well I disagree on this point. The point to that scene was not Marv confusing Wendy with Goldie, it was that Wendy slapped him. I think this scene makes their exchange in the prison much more poignant. Also the scene in the bathroom as well as the extra narration about his fear of death enhance...
I am trully mystified at this. If Matthew Marino's list of extra scenes is really complete then either there has been a huge mastering error or RR is an outright liar. He is doing interviews for this set and still saying that he filmed the entire GN's and put them on the DVD. Let's just...
I probably won't be able to pick this set up until after Christmas so I can't comment on the net cut yet, but if it does infact include the entire GN material then I will most certainly want it. I was somewhat dissapointed with the TC. I felt it captured the style of Frank Miller but not his...
that makes sense since it had the most footage cut out. i really couldn't believe how they gutted that story. Also I reposted in the other thread David.
You know, I've been looking at the numbers being thrown around at various websites regarding the running time and actual extra footage. It seems to me that we should have about 15 actual extra minutes not 8 to 10. heres how I've broken it down: TC = 124min EC = 147min A diffrence...

Are you sure that only 8 minutes of actual footage has been added? RR said in a interview that the uncut version of That Yellow Bastard was 45 minutes long, about 7 min longer than the theatrical cut. that leaves only 1 minute spread between The Hard Goodbye and The Big Fat Kill. Also if...
JakeLip I have one last question. You said in your spolier text that there is a brief talk between Harry and Dumbledore, and a few words about Cedric's death. Do either of these scenes have the line about choosing between whats right and whats easy?
I'm sorry but that paticular scene looked EXACTLY like that in the theaters. Now if it looks like that throughout the whole film I'd agree that there is a problem. But the scene where Ray meets his ex-wife at the begining always had the blooming effect.
Well, one main theme has been removed; (atleast according to reports from the test screening.) the entire "Parting of the Ways" chapter is not in the movie. Nor is pivitol line heard in the first trailer: "Dark and diffcult times lie ahead; soon we must all make the choice between what is right...
