I use 4 monopoles...2 on the sides, 2 in the rear. I don't like way dipoles sound in my room. I needed the direct radiators. If you have the right acoustics though...I would definitly go with dipoles for more diffuse imaging.

Generally speaking, you usually get what you pay for in terms of quality....unless of course it fell off the back of a truck!

I left the spikes on my towers because they shook all over the place! (and the towers weigh over 70 lbs. each!) The manufacturer (Phase Technology) highly recommended using the spikes ...they said "they (the spikes)also contribute to deeper, tighter bass." So I left them on...the damage is...

I have a 61" proscan rptv. Thanks for the help.

Mine says PIONEER on the front Besides that my dv-434 is progressive scan, has dual lasers, plays cd-r's, and has never once locked up on me while playing a DVD, ever. I own 3 other dvd players (a Sony and 2 Panasonics) and this Pioneer is actually a bit smoother on layer changes...I'm not...
I have my Denon 4800 receiver on the top shelf and my Denon 5200 amp on the shelf underneath it - about 2 or 3 inches. The shelves are made from a coated metal wire frame. The 4800 seems to draw more heat then the 5200 amp. My question....Is the 5200 amp cooking the 4800 by being directly...
I love my Denon 4800 for both 2 channel and home theater applications. I have never heard the Yamaha though so definitly do a side by side demo before making your purchase Elbert.
