Apparently 6th Ave is still selling these for 1099 shipped, because I just ordered mine a few minutes ago! I spoke with Scott at ext. 8632 BTW, I'm also upgrading from an Outlaw 950/7100 combo.
I think you would be happy with either choice. I have Axoim speakers in my dedicated HT and some Aperion's in my bedroom system. Overall, I prefer Axiom. YMMV.
Good to know. I'll be getting the Sharp today and will take a good look. I'm planning to keep it, but thankfully Costco has a good return policy. Aside from the potential fan noise issue, the Sharp would work well for me setup wise. Have you found a good deal on the BenQ?
You may want to consider the Sharp 12k mkII deal at Costco: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d.php?t=256039 It should be at least as good as the BenQ or Vidikron.
Yeah, this is probably the very best 720p projector available anywhere near this price. It's reportedly better than most of the low cost 1080p units as far as actual picture quality is concerned and holds up quite well to the more expensive units too! Mine will be here tomorrow!!
I did a forum search but didn't find anything on this, so I thought I'd post it for anyone who wasn't aware of it yet. Costco is selling this projector for an incredible $1999.99 until supplies run out. This projector originally retailed for well over $10,000.00! There are several professional...
This show is so awesome! I've only watched it on DVD and in fact only recently finished season 2.5 (wow). Anyway, I wish they would number the episodes so I could start watching the show on TV (in HD of course) now instead of having to wait for the season 3 dvd. I have several episodes of season...
They seem to be what I'm looking for then. Have you ever listened to Axiom speakers? If so, how would you say they compare with them as far as brightness goes?
The reason I'm interested in these is I'm considering them for a small dedicated room. The use would be 100% HT/TV use, no music. What's your opinion of them for this type of arrangement? If I go this route, they would be mated to either a PB10-NSD or PB12.
Actually, I go down to Houston from time to time on business. If I don't find anyone in the Dallas area by my next trip, maybe I could swing by? What type of environment do you have the speakers set up in? And I guess a more important question is, do you like them? Thanks, Anthony
I've owned products from both companies and they both make excellent subwoofers. I used to own a 16-46PC+ (being replaced by a PB2+) that I used in a dedicated room and I currently have a VTF-2 MkI that I use in a smaller viewing room. The VTF-2 in a small room produces incredible bass that...
"Bottom line: Normal to medium loud spl levels- single driver Ultra. High spl levels- twin driver Plus or Ultra. " You're right! I guess I figured that I've spent a fair amount of money building a pretty nice room and I want my system to be capable of True reference levels, even if it...
"Nothing wrong with getting a subwoofer that's slightly overkill...but really a bit daft to get one that's stupidly overkill (and paying for it) then only using 20% of it's performance." I kind of felt the same way before and that's part of the reason I had such a hard time making a decision...
"WOW... somebody wants one of these SVS monsters bad enough to pour a driveway just to get it in their house!!! LOL" Yeah, actually it's been tough to wait this long. I purchased most of my other gear(for the new house)months ago. The only thing that stopped me from ordering the sub earlier...
Thanks Tom! I'm actually planning to use a BFD, so I think the PB12Plus/2 will be the one. My driveway should be poured no later than next Tuesday (weather permiting), so it's probably safe to go ahead with the order now. I just want to make sure I make it as easy on myself as possible :D...
Craig, thanks for the tip. I originally was considering the PC-Ultra also and haven't ruled it out yet, but I also know that I liked the sound of my 16-46PC+ and just want more output. I also like the idea of twin drivers. At first, I felt the PB2+ would be serious overkill, but then you see...
I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a new SVS sub and am leaning pretty heavily towards the PB2+ (or is it PB12+/2?). My room is about 2500 cubic feet and is well sealed. I'm guessing that a 20-39PC+ would be enough most of the time, but I kind of want the extra elbow room if you will...
Well for starters, your room dimensions look to be pretty decent for sound. I only counted 5 problem frequencies and those can be dealt with in several ways (speaker placement, seating positions and if necessary, EQ). I would suggest you start by doing a lot of reading on the different...
IMO, the overall quality of the presentation on any decent front projector is much higher than on any rear projection TV. What screen size are you considering? There are so many good projectors available at low prices nowadays, you almost can't go wrong. A good place to start might be...
If you can get 90% for your SVS, that's great! I would bet that in most cases, 80% would be more like it and if you consider that you loose the original shipping cost, then it's even a little less. All I'm saying, is that if someone already owns a PCi sub and just wants more output, that...
I realize this post is a few months late, but I was wondering about something. For anyone who currently owns a PCi sub and is considering an upgrade, why not just get a second PCi sub? Two PCi subs(co-located)will outperform any single PC+ sub as well as the PB2-ISD. I could be wrong, but I bet...
For Sale: A pair of CSW Tower II’s and a CenterStage center speaker. These speakers originally sold for $999.99(Tower II’s) and $349 for the CenterStage and at those prices were considered a good value. These are very musical speakers and have good base response. You could use these speakers...
