Incredible contest, thanks HTF!
We have an unfinished basement just waiting to get started, and my plan is to make it Atmos-capable with built-in ceiling speakers for 2 rows. Winning this beast as the heart of the new system would put us a lot closer to starting, and would make an absolutely...
Looks like DVD Spot worked out for me, I have most of my movies up there now, and might even add a few of the ones that aren't in their database. Thanks for the tips everyone!
Well, I've signed up at DVDSpot and started to populate based on memory. I'll have to figure out how to direct link to my profile... Testing in my sig.
I just found DVDspot (www.dvdspot.com) which seems to fit the bill quite well, does anyone use it? Naturally I'd find a good one right AFTER I make a post. :frowning:
I've been looking around for a decent online catalog for my DVDs, and I can't quite find what I'm looking for. I know someone here will have the answer, so after searching and coming up empty, I'm hoping I posted in the best forum. What I really want is something simple, that can be accessed...
There's also the TC Sounds TC2000 or TC3000 (www.tcsounds.com). Someone created a chart with most of the major subs in a $/Litre displacement-for-the-buck format, but I can't remember where it was. Someone else will probably know.
That is a pretty tight budget, and will be tough to get what he wants, especially new. You might have some luck on ebay or on the forums where there's a buy & sell section. Otherwise he might want to move down to an 8" or a 10" woofer that would work with one of then smaller 100 watt amps. If...
I'm no expert, but I'd think a rumble filter at 28 or 35Hz would be pretty counterproductive in a subwoofer application. Generally, they are applied (I think) to protect the driver from overexcursion at the very low frequencies, and are basically a bit of equalization built in to roll off...
Yeah, that's where I saw it, I just figured since it didn't come up in a search over here I'd post the link. The DIY'ers seem to have moved, but you never know there still might be a few stragglers who haven't caught up yet. I'm still just a lurker in one or two of the other ones myself. And...
I ran across a link to these today and thought there might be a few people interested in them. For CDN$60.00 they look like a few of them might make a great low budget IB? http://www.mach5audio.com/product_in...b5fda3922ce62a
I wouldn't expect anything less from someone on the forums. :) Whatever you do end up with, I'm sure you will love it, and remember to post and tell us all about it.
