My sub plays fairly flat to 16Hz, DD/Dts/Stereo show this, PL2/Neo6 needs the bass boosting about 8dB to acheive the same level. My amp is set to LFE + Main.
Denon 3802, speakers set to small, x-overed @ 80Hz, levels calibrated. Pro logic seems to be lacking bass, upping the sub level 8-10dB seems to do the trick, any ideas? Dolby Digital/DTS/Stereo all work fine.
I have updated the file for my usual listening level -10dB (if my amp is callibrated to dolby 105dB, what volume will a cd of tones be with the volume at -10dB, 95dB?)
What is going on, how am I getting a flatish response all the way to 16Hz from an 8' sub with 50 watts?!? The door was...

I am thrilled with the British Pro50, okay it's small (8" 50watt sssh!) but it's very tight and has superb transient response. The thing is the readings are a little confusing, why am I not getting a sharp rolloff ~25Hz...
Get my anologue SPL meter in the post this morning, set it all up to calibrate my 3802, start the tones. All my previous 'done by ear' settings were dead on 75dB @ 00! The method I used to do it by ear was; Listen to 2ch CD Adjust front levels so image appears central enable 4ch stereo...
Living in the uk I'm finding it hard to locate any sort of calibration discs, plus the fact none are designed for PAL.
I can burn audio tracks to cd and jpeg's to a vcd.
Video Calibration
Seeing as I use a RGB scart connection from my dvd, colour is fixed so I only want to calibrate...
70Deg C
While I'm here, does anyone think the gold fascia is particularly prone to niks and scratches? I have only had mine a week or two and I think my watch has marked the fascia on top.
Also I have the 3802 in a unit with 10cm(4in) clearence above, open front and rear and 1cm each side, is this adequate? I have measured the temp on top of the receiver at 31.6c. Thanks Dom.
