Its too bad that will not be an hour long documentary like "The Beggining" but I can understand why. The documentary for Episode I was put together from 600 hours of raw footage. Edting all that together while trying to put together the rest of the DVD must have taken a long time, and since they...
Im assuming from your topic you are running a pro-logic system. In that case I would say that upgrading to 5.1 is big difference. Directionality, Sound Stage and Ambience are all improved. Though I dont have much experience with 6.1 and 7.1, I think you can do without it. The difference isnt as...
Im no expert it TV by any means, but I was at the Good Guys in my area (the one at the Beverly Connection in Los Angeles) and they had Mitsubishi 6500(?) in the main showroom. Its a DLP TV and the picture was amazing. The only problem is that it retails for $14,999.
I had my friend come over to my house to pick me up to go the auto show, but we hung out at my house for a bit. I popped in Episode I for her to watch/listen to on my humble system: Yamaha RX-V620. Kef Q30 mains, Yamaha Center (Im upgrading that soon) and an old pair of boston surrounds. I know...
The last movie I saw was Black Hawk Down at the new Grauman's Chinese 6 complex at the Hollywood and Highland complex in Hollywood. It was one the nicest theaters I have ever been in. When I saw Ocean's 11 in the Man's Chinese theater adjacent to the 6 complex, I was rather dissapointed...
Hi everyone...after reading an ass load of topics and a little help here and there, I finally moved from Pro-Logic to Digital and picked up a Yamaha RX-V620. Im very happy with it but now I want to upgrade my center channel. My main speakers are Kef Q30 and Id like to get a Kef center to match...
Guy, I was looking into the top of my Yamaha Rx-V620 while watching Episode I today at a very low volume (just -58db) and I think I saw a blue spark and the receiver just shut down. I turned it on seconds later and its worked just fine since. What the hell do you guys think happened? I think Im...
MickeS-
What George meant by $50 million was only for the effects, which is actually massive, Usually and effects budget for a big movie is around $20 million at ILM. The full budget for Episode I was $120 milion, but they were able to come in at $115 million.
Im willing to bet that if 10.2 becomes as common as DTS is now, it will somehow be made affordable. Im mean like 5-10 years from now though. Maybe if it becomes the new standard like Dolby Digital or DTS, speaker companies will have to find a way to make their speakers more affordable. Yeah...
I was flipping through a home theater magazine today (Im sorry I can remeber which one but it was yellow and had a picture of Penelope Cruz in the TV on the cover) Anyway, there was an article about Tomlinson Holman and his new sound format. I didnt have time to read the article thuroughly, but...
Thanks so much for all your help guys. The reason I wanted to know about this receiver is because there is an auction at ubid.com for it. But Im concerened as to whether or not it will come in good condition. Does anyone have any experince with ubid?
I thought about the possiblity or PAL vs. NTSC also, but I never really looked into it. I think I've seen PAL before but it didnt look this off. It was just a weird moving image. Oh well. No big deal, not like I eally cared for the TV, I just thjought it was interesting.
