I'll second the motion for Valley Girl! Even one of MGM's no-frills el-cheapo specials would be welcome for that title. I watched it over and over on cable back in the 80's and my VHS copy is looooong worn out!

Peter, I've heard rumors about BURN WITCH BURN coming out as a Midnite Movies release early next year. I'd love it if they used the same Richard Matheson commentary track from the long-OOP and impossible-to-find Image LD!

The problem is that a lot of the titles I'm curious about may or may not belong to MGM. These include:

Near Dark (an HBO video release of a DEG film)
Miracle Mile (an HBO video release of a Hemdale film)
The Stepfather (an Embassy video release of an Embassy - ? - film)
Wild at Heart (a Samuel Goldwyn film)
From Beyond (a Lightning Video release of an Empire Pictures film)

Ones I know that MGM owns (that I'd love to see) include:

The Belly of an Architect
Miami Blues
Romeo Is Bleeding
Blacula
Scream Blacula Scream!
More Corman Poe!

I'll second Peter Fitzerald's call for A Fistful of Dynamite, Topkapi and Beach Red.

I've heard rumors that Wings of Desire might be going to Anchor Bay (along with Fox's Paris Texas) as part of their Wim Wenders collection.

All good suggestions; I'd particularly like to see SEs of Billion Dollar Brain, The Vikings, The Thief of Bagdad, Four Feathers, and of course any and all Hammer films MGM might be selfishly keeping from us.

Mark Cappelletty,

Great news about BURN WITCH BURN, if that rumor holds true. I believe it has already been released on VHS in the "Midnite Movies" line, so that'd make perfect sense. If they can't secure the rights to Image's LD commentary, they should try to get Matheson to record a new one, like the recent Roger Corman commentaries. I'm still bummed that THE UNEARTHLY STRANGER (1963, made by the same small production company, Independent Artists, as BWB) is no longer MGM's (according to DVD Drive-In), though...I hope Anchor Bay can/will try their hand at it. It's a great little British sci-fi flick, which fits in quite well in tone with the QUATERMASS films and DAY THE EARTH CAUGHT FIRE.

I can't speak for the others in the small bunch you listed, but MIRACLE MILE is MGM's now. It has been playing on Showtime/The Movie Channel/Flix lately, and sported the new MGM Home Entertainment logo, and since THE TERMINATOR, also a Hemdale flick, is due very soon, I don't think MIRACLE MILE is out of the realm of possibility for DVD release from MGM in the near future.

Apart from Inherit the Wind, every other desirable MGM movie for me is now in the hands of Warner Bros.. An addition would be 1984 if reports are true about MGM now having the rights.

But I'd also like to see this:

The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection
The Inspector Cartoon Collection
The Ant and the Aardvark Cartoon Collection

I'd like to see:

UNTIL SEPTEMBER (1984)

A SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS (1980)

TRIGGER HAPPY (MAD DOG TIME) (1996)

SHOOT THE MOON (1981)

SPLIT IMAGE (1982)

THE BURNING

Those would be cool!

How about an Anamorphic Widescreen version of Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang?

I love the movie, but absolutely hate the fact that it is only 4x3 Pan and Scan. The disk even teases you by having the initial credits run in widescreen (so you can read the titles and see the car's racing history) and then cuts to pan and scan.
