The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--It's just not a great week for new releases.  Plain and simple..

--At Best Buy, get up to $7.50 toward one movie ticket to see Ted 2 when you purchase specially-marked titles.  In theaters 6-26-15.  Find the titles at BestBuy.com/MovieMoney.  Online and select stores.  Titles shown:  Ted:  $9.99 (Blu), Neighbors: $11.99 (Blu)..

--The following recent releases are on sale this week at Best Buy (all DVD unless otherwise noted):

$14.99:  Taken 3 (Blu), Unbroken (Blu), Interstellar (Blu).

$19.99:  Parks and Recreation: Season 7, Glee: Season 6.

--Best Buy is advertising a series of $7.99 Blu-ray titles which include ONE FREE MONTH of ad-free Pandora One.  A $5 value.  Titles shown:  Spinal Tap and Walk the Line.

--Best Buy Odds and Ends:  None to report.

--Just when I thought Target was breaking out of its doldrums in terms of their media deals...we get this week's flyer.

--Target is advertising a $5 Target GiftCard if you pre-order either of the films Inside Out or Home at Target.com/preorder.  Pre-order these films now and if the price drops before the release date, you'll pay the lower price.  Quantities limited, no rainchecks.  Terms and conditions apply to gift cards.   .

--You can also save 20% off all DreamWorks movies if you use Target's Cartwheel app.

--Target has an EXCLUSIVE RELEASE of American Girl Grace: Stirs Up Success which includes a "cooking activity book."  Looks like it might be a DVD-only EXCLUSIVE.  Not clear in the ad.

--Target Odds and Ends: A bunch of PIXAR and Dreamworks DVDs are listed on sale (in the $8.99 to $14.99 range).

Thanks, Mike! You're right....not a great week for releases (at least for me) which means a great week for my bank account!

edit: if I were 3D equipped I certainly would support the Rarities set.

You're so right, Mike. Not a great week for new releases apart from 3-D Rarities which is, of course, required viewing for those who are 3D equipped. Flicker Alley was nice enough to start sending out pre-orders a bit early, so many of us have already seen and loved it.

I put in to review The Mean Season, but it doesn't look like that disc will be forthcoming. MattCR will be reviewing The Forger at some point since we both requested it, but he beat me to the punch.

Thanks for the RoundUp!

Nothing this week. I ended up spending my movie budget (plus some) on a bunch of Funko Pop Disney characters yesterday. A number of stores had excellent sales (Buy one, Get one 50% off; Buy Three, Get the Fourth Free; 75% off...) and I'm done with the Tomorrowland collection. Working on the Inside Out characters, half through Frozen and started Lilo & Stitch.

Happy Father's Day, Mr. Mike!

Thanks everybody!

I had a wonderful Father's Day today.

My wife and I babysat my 7-month old granddaughter overnight. She and I watched some baseball together today on TV while she ate her lunch.

And then tonight I had dinner with my entire family...including my wife, mother, granddaughter, son (and his dog), My daughter and son-in-law and his mother who is visiting from North Carolina.

Doesn't get much better than that!

An addition for the roundup!

Under-the-radar due to a no-name distributor, but Miyazaki's directorial debut Lupin the 3rd: Castle of Cagliostro: Collector's Edition is available on Blu-ray for $14.99 each at Amazon and Best Buy (who apparently seem to actually stock it in stores!).

The DVD came out in January.
