So, I saw the trailers for this and it looked interesting. I like one season shows/mini-series. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that it's based on Blake Crouch's books. I have read some of his stuff, I think he mostly does e-books. I like to read horror/thriller books and he was an amazon recommendation. I have read everything that John Locke has written and he popped up as a recommendation.

Anyway, the first episode was pretty good and moved pretty fast. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

It was a mishmash of other shows like Lost, The Prisoner, Twin Peaks etc but it was still intriguing enough to keep me watching. I think as well that they knew how similar certain elements were and got those out in the pilot as it seemed they revealed quite a lot in the first episode. I could have seen them holding back quite a few of those reveals until later had they not been similar to others.

Will be interested to see where they take it.

Its not based on his original idea or story though, it is based on a book isn't it ? And I thought he was only directing the pilot.

Well the second episode didnt reveal much new but certainly had an ending that is going to have me back next week :)
Yeah, with only 10 episodes and the slow summer TV season, I know I'll watch the entire run but the second episode (especially the ending) definitely got my interest.

I thought the whole episode had a great vibe about it that was building to that moment. Again very reminiscent of other films and TV shows, but there is certainly plenty of questions to be answered and whats been great is it doesn't seem to be holding much back in terms of story.

Love the creepy nurse...

I'm concerned with M. Night being attached that this thing will just implode as it goes along.

^^This! This right here. I was thinking the same thing last night.

So far I've enjoyed what I have watched and I'm hoping that they

can end it well but I have my doubts.

Not sure why we would be blaming Shyamalan for anything now - he directed the pilot - pretty well too - and he is Exec produc of a series based on someone else novels who seems to be writing the episodes too.

Sounds to me like Shyamalan is taking a role similar to what Abrams did on Lost.

I was only comparing to Lost in that the success or failure of the show was not down to Abrams, but Cuse and Lindelof as show runners (although I did love Lost) :)

My big question from the second episode is why was Evans' body in the house for Burke to find? If he was killed in front of everyone, why not just dispose of the body? I hope they reveal the motivation there.

The bubble around the town and the different experiences of time in it are quite a puzzle. I hope they do have a good explanation.

In any case, from one review I read, it looks like some answers will be sprinkled throughout the season and not just in the final episode.

Well, apparently I'm a cult of one here, but I'm almost ready to bail on the show. The atmosphere is good and the cast is really good, but it seems that they are bringing in new elements every week while explaining virtually nothing. Other than a brain problem I'm not finding out a reasonable explanation.

I did read that everybody is still alive that isn't supposed to be dead so there is that.

Somewhere I read that episode 5 will reveal a lot (and that the show is a complete story by the end of the season). Anyhow I'll probably hang on through episode 5 and then see whether to drop it or continue.
