COMING SOON TO A THEATER NEAR YOU
Reggie W said:I think the cast makes sense based on the subject matter. Always look forward to the Coen films. Last month I watched several of their films and Jon Polito was always great in all the films he was in. Wish they had got him in this as well, based on the setting they could have even named his character Lou Breeze.

Yeah, this movie is not for everyone. I really enjoyed it and those that are very familiar with the Golden Age of Hollywood will probably appreciate it more than those that lack some of those details from the era. This film played homage to so many of those past events. The humor isn't gut-busting, but was effective with me. The real Eddie Mannix was a unique character. A real Hollywood fixer.Critic reviews are reasonably good so far (currently 77% at RT), but audience reviews aren't as strong (currently 62% at RT). Even the critics that liked it say it is uneven, contains a lot of unresolved subplots, and, in Coen brothers fashion, ends abruptly (too abruptly). Which leads me to believe it is a movie that I'll enjoy more than my wife.
That said, we are going to see a matinee today!

Normally, I'd have seen it this morning but I told a friend that I'd see it with them so I'll be waiting until next weekend. It sounds like the reviews are pretty good so I guess I can consider it something to look forward to.Seeing it tonight.
