No need to over-react. The title would never have been announced in the first place if work had not already been well underway on a restoration. These things can take months to do properly. Presumably, an unforeseen glitch or slowdown has happened and Universal has to postpone the premiere in order to do it correctly.

I speak as someone who will be attending the Festival and had planned on seeing Spartacus. I certainly don't take the cancellation of the premiere as an indication a restoration is not forthcoming.

Agree with you. It just will not be ready for the Festival but ready for a new Blu sometime this year. :)

Disappointed with the postponement of Spartacus but optimistic that new restorations mean we may see BD's of 1776, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (maybe from WAC?), and Roman Holiday sooner rather than later.
