I've only had this set for 5 1/2 weeks and this showed up on the screen last night. I'm quite concerned about it. The store says they only deal with repairs within 30 days of purchase (?!) even though they are a licensed Samsung repair centre. So I was told to call Samsung myself. Has anyone dealt with this before or have any idea what it is? It's small, but unacceptable for a new TV.

I keep getting "upload fail" so I'll keep trying to get the pic on for you to see.

Got the pic up. You can see it's almost crescent shaped with a slight pink-purple ring along the outside of it. Are those dead pixels? I'm assuming Samsung would replace/fix something I've barely had for over a month.

Samsung is easy to deal with. I have a washer/dryer though.Do they offer 3 extra months of warranty on TV like they do appliances? If they do...do it.

Where do you live? At high altitude e.g. Denver? When I evaluated plasma displays for the AF years ago, their problem was that the glass planes would separate in the middle, and make the discharge gap too big for the voltage to operate. Hence a black spot in the center of the display.

No altitude here. Samsung sent over an authorized repair guy and they are going to fix it for me. Either a new panel or new set. Thanks for the replies!
