hello, I have a basic Onkyo home theater system...

I also have and fly multi-rotors / quadcopter for fun... and they have FPV (first person view), where I look thru goggles to see what the 'copter' sees...

those goggles are FATSHARK brank, and they have radio receiver built it, but they also have a 1/8" plug for a video/audio input...

I can get the video when I plug direct into the cable box rca output.. but, I can not get any video signal from any plug on the back of my Onkyo reciever/amplifier...

I see several ports that should work, but for the life of me, they don't.

there is a MONITOR OUT, and a VCR/DVR OUT

but again, no signal is coming from those ports

what do I need to do to get video signal into the FATSHARK goggles?

thanks

im not... whatever is going to the home theater system, to be displayed on the tv, is coming from the cable box, or the playstation, or chromecast...

but why should that matter?

if it can be recorded on a vcr, (i.e. the vcr out), then shouldnt the onkyo chave some converter technology inside it? if there is a converter for sale somewhere, and if it costs $50 or so to sell it/buy it, then how is that not jsut a simple matter to incorporate that into home theater systems without adding a real cost additive to the basic product itself...

anyways, by the way, thanks for the reply...

Your cable box still has composite. Use it directly. The PS3 and Chromecast...Good luck. (Most forums with relationships with manufacturers and studios do not discuss HDMI-> "anything else" video adapters)

No AVR, by anybody, has ever down-res'd the video. Not one.And yes, there are adapters. They are illegal.

Im sorry. but I don't understand... I will google avr in a second.. but, Im not wanting to record anything... I just used that as an example...but, Im still not sure if vcr's ever became illegal? I just thought they were outdated...

I truly just want to play video games on my ps4, and use the goggles, or at least try them out and see if they are 'better'... I would think they are , but not sure... just figured i would try

thanks

Audio Video Receiver...ie, your Onkyo. No VHS isn't illegal. What I said is...if the video signal enters the AVR over HDMI...it stays HDMI. Does on every single AVR made(back when, there were some that could take

Little bit of help here...Wal-Mart sells a "non-HDCP compliant"* HDMI to RCA adapter for $115.Does not work with Chromecast. Doubt it works with PS3.*Technically there is no reason to say "non-HDCP compliant". As there aren't any that are.

ok, I just read a little more.. hmm.. so , this issue is a LAW or an FCC issue, this is a manufacturer, 'source' issue.. i.e. source equals the content provider.. either cable, or sony, or mgm, or whomever...

they are trying, (albeit successfully), to limit the use of vcr...and in the process limit/inhibit legal intent/use of technology...

hmm, great...
