What's new

It's now October... I'm guessing there won't be another Fox "Vote" this year... (1 Viewer)

I'm a bit concerned... Since the Rodgers & Hammerstein set, have any more "Fox Classics" been announced? Has the line been dropped?

Yup, I think they've gone a bit cold on Blu-ray. Maybe the accountants are in charge now, & they didn't think the last lot sold well enough. I see the Fox TV series, Bones & Modern Family new box-sets are DVD only. This time last year, Fox were the good guys & Warner the bad guys.

I sadly have to agree. It's been a trifle dispiriting to see this evolution away from Blu-ray on a few key releases and a lack of enthusiasm for presenting their classics to eagerly awaiting fans. (But at least they farmed out All That Jazz and The Innocents to a company that gave them their due respect, and fingers are crossed for more of the same treatment for My Darling Clementine.)

I had hoped we were going to see a Shirley Temple commemorative set in time for the holidays, especially since there were a few of her films in the 2013 poll.

Somebody knowledgeable around here said that Poor Little Rich Girl was being worked on, so I expect to see that out at some point.

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie from last year is now with Twilight Time. I think the days of Fox releasing Studio Classics are gone, we have to assume TT and Criterion will pick these titles up. I'm still craving Two for the Road which had a recent restoration, an upcoming Criterion perhaps?

I am beginning to think we will never see TODD-AO transfers of DOCTOR DOLITTLE and STAR! Fox should just give them to Twilight Time.

There are several Fox titles that have never even seen the light of day on standard DVD (in region 1) that I'd love to see but considering Fox's slipshod treatment of their films on their MOD line and the fact that blu isn't the cash cow they were hoping for ..... our best chances are Criterion and Twilight Time but even then they are dependent on Fox's transfers which aren't always acceptable.
